The present Charter may be amended or revised if any Acgwc Party makes a written request to that effect to the Secretary-General of the Organization of African Unity, provided that the proposed amendment is not submitted to the Assembly of Heads of State and Government for consideration until all the States Parties have been duly notified of it and the Committee has given its opinion on the amendment.

Once the process has been completed, a report is sent to the Committee of the Heads of Acrwwc and Government.
